While Christmas is a very special time for us all, it holds a particularly special place in the life of The Choir and Chapel of King’s College, Cambridge. We film Carols from King’s ‘as live’ in early December ready for television broadcast on BBC Two on Christmas Eve. Earlier on the 24th, the BBC broadcasts A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, which was introduced in 1918 to bring a more imaginative approach to worship, and was first broadcast in 1928. It is now heard on Radio 4 and on hundreds of stations live around the world.  Not surprisingly perhaps, one of our most treasured and best-selling titles is Favourite Carols from King’s which offers a beautiful collection of some of the most-loved Carols in our repertoire, and a snapshot of the British choral tradition at this most wonderful time of the year.
